Did you know that the RSPB (that's the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) is selling PALM OIL FREE chocolate....
The RSPB charity is involved in projects to help both bird & wildife around the UK and other parts of the world. This includes Indonesia, where the Orangutan & Sumatran tiger are really losing out to human demand for palm oil. Their homes are torn down to make way for human demand. From 16 million hectares in 1900, there are just 500-600,000 left today.
The RSPB is working with other international wildlife & birdlife organisations (Burung Indonesia & BirdLife International) to help protect & preserve the rainforest in Indonesia. It's launched its Harapan One Million Tree Appeal, to plant a million trees in the Harapan rainforest. And it has on its web site Love Nature Chocolate - chocolate that's palm oil free!

Palm Oil Free Chocolate
So how have they made palm oil free chocolate?
Rather than use soya lecithin as an emulsifier in the chocolate, cocoa butter binds the ingredients together and makes it even creamier. The chocolate is organic - its ingredients are grown in places cared for to help wildlife. Most of the ingredients are fairtrade, so the growers get a fair deal.
